This unexpected pet-nat is a blend of the small amount of white grapes that Isabel Newlin farms in Yoncalla, OR: Albarino from the Applegate Vineyard and Chardonnay from a recently derelict 1-acre plot covered in untrellised vines she lovingly refers to simply as Terrie’s vineyard. Although it's nearly 80% Chardonnay, the Albarino really does assert itself (hence the label “Chardonnay Tries on Albarino”), and the resulting wine is creamy, tropical, dry, and slightly leesy (it's not disgorged). If it has traveled, it’s probably a good idea to let it settle upright for several days before opening. You will have a more limpid experience.
