Jerseyhoeve Schorren is an indulgent Dutch gouda made from 100% organic Jersey cow's milk (are animal breeds capitalized??) from a heard of 80 on the island of Goeree-Overflakkee. The composition of fat and protein content in Jersey cow milk lends to this cheese's big bold creamy flavor. Aging on wooden planks for more than a year this cheese has developed the desirable crunchy protein crystals and notes of a full pancake breakfast.
At the International Cheese Awards 2016 in Nantwich, England, this cheese was named Supreme Champion, or the best cheese in the world! In 2020 Jerseyhoeve Schorren attended this competition again with the winners of the last four years. The Jury announced Jerseyhoeve Schorren again as Best of the Best! The best cheese in the world?! Either way it's a true specialty and delight.
