Jess Miller's Little Crow label is truly a one-woman show; not only does she make the wine, but tends the vineyards too, planting and pruning entirely by hand, ensuring her vines are untouched by pesticides. She's our favorite kind of vigneron, and we feel very lucky to have procured a few bottles of her latest release (in fact her only planned release this vintage, as our recent wildfires spoiled most of her 2019 harvest). But, much like the phoenix rising out of ashes, Jess, working with a tiny half-acre plot of old vine Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, has managed to make something beautiful out of near ruin. Restrained, fresh, and elegant, this 2019 Pinot Noir represents some of her best work, a truly special wine that not only speaks to the exceptional local terroir but also to the creative spirit of our local winemakers. Extremely limited quantities.
